After watching Rambo (politically foul, exploitative, staggeringly violent, terrible acting, ridiculously OTT as it strains for those iconic snapshots – everything you want from a Rambo movie) and Son Of Rambow (sweet, scruffy, charming), I got to thinking about perfect double bills. So, a while back, I watched Cloverfield. It was really good, and left me wandering out of the cinema twitchily looking to building tops in case a monster was on his way. Of course, London is a lot lower than Manhattan (hence no Spider-Man ever set in Blighty), so the neck wasn't craned too bad, but still - the fear was there. Indeed the fear must have been massive throughout the film because, well, I sodded up.
